Terms
The rules for using Burrow, in plain words. By installing or using Burrow you agree to them.
The short version
- Burrow starts with a 7-day free trial of everything. After that you keep Lite, which is free.
- Pro is a one-time purchase. No subscription.
- Your Pro license is for you, on up to 3 of your Macs.
- Not happy? Ask within 14 days of buying Pro and you get your money back.
- Burrow changes your agents' settings files only when you say so, and it can put them back.
What Burrow is
Burrow is a macOS app that lives in your Mac's notch. A small buddy shows what your AI coding agents are doing and lets you answer them. It works with Claude Code and Codex, which are made by other companies. We aren't affiliated with Anthropic or OpenAI, and you need your own accounts with them. You also need a Mac on macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later.
Trial, Lite and Pro
- Trial. The first 7 days include everything. The clock runs on your Mac. No payment details are needed.
- Lite. When the trial ends, Burrow keeps working as Lite, free, with the features listed on meetburrow.com. Approving and answering your agents from the notch stays free.
- Pro. A one-time purchase that unlocks the Pro features listed on our site. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay. meetburrow.com lists the current price.
We may change what's in Lite and Pro in future versions. We won't take away a Pro feature you've already paid for.
Your license
When you buy Pro, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Burrow Pro on up to 3 Macs that you own or use. Your license key is yours alone. Please don't share it or post it. You can free a Mac with Deactivate this Mac… in Burrow's Settings, or in Polar's customer portal, then use that seat on another Mac.
Burrow gets regular updates, free. Lite gets them too. We won't charge Pro owners again for the Pro features they bought.
Burrow checks your license with Polar when you activate and about once a day after that. If the check can't run, because you're offline or Polar is down, Pro keeps working for up to 30 days. After that, that Mac goes back to Lite until it can check again. If a license is refunded or revoked, that Mac goes back to Lite.
Burrow is licensed, not sold. We keep ownership of the app, the buddies, the artwork and the name.
Buying, taxes and refunds
Polar sells Pro to you as the merchant of record. Polar takes your payment, handles sales tax and VAT, and issues your receipt. Polar's terms apply to the purchase itself.
14-day refund. Want a refund? Email support@meetburrow.com within 14 days of buying. We'll refund you through Polar, our payment provider. How fast the money lands depends on your bank. After a refund, your key stops working.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law where you live.
Using Burrow
Please use Burrow fairly. Don't:
- copy, resell or share the app or your key;
- take it apart, or work around the license check;
- use it to break the law or someone else's terms.
Where the law gives you a right to do any of these, that right stays.
Changes Burrow makes to your tools
When you connect Claude Code or Codex, Burrow edits their settings files (for example ~/.claude/settings.json) to add its hooks and, if you choose, a status line. It saves a backup first. To take its changes out again, open Settings → Connections → AI and choose Remove… under "Remove Burrow from your AI tools". Your own settings stay as they were. You're responsible for those tools and their settings. Keep your own backups too.
Allow and Deny in Burrow answer your agent for you. Read what an agent asks to do before you approve it. You decide what your agent runs.
Other companies' services
Burrow works with Claude Code, Codex, Apple Calendar, Apple Music, Spotify, GitHub and iCloud. Those services belong to other companies, run under their own terms, and can change or stop without us. If they do, parts of Burrow may stop working, and that's out of our hands. We aren't affiliated with any of them.
Privacy
Our privacy page explains what Burrow reads and every place it connects to.
Support and updates
We'll do our best to help by email at support@meetburrow.com. We usually reply within 2 to 4 business days. Burrow can check for updates by itself. You can turn that off in Settings. We may release fixes and new versions, but we don't promise any particular update, or that Burrow will keep working on every future macOS version.
No promises beyond the law
We work hard to make Burrow reliable. Software still has bugs. Burrow is provided "as is", with no warranty beyond what the law requires. We're not responsible for what your agents do, for approvals you give, or for lost work or data on your Mac. This doesn't limit any guarantee that consumer law gives you.
Limit of our responsibility
As far as the law allows, our total responsibility to you for anything to do with Burrow is limited to the amount you paid us for it, and we aren't responsible for indirect or knock-on losses. This doesn't limit anything the law says we can't limit, such as responsibility for death or personal injury, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights.
Ending things
You can stop using Burrow any time. Delete the app (see Your choices for a full clean-up). We may end a license if you seriously break these terms, for example by sharing your key widely. We'll tell you why first, where we can.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. Disputes go to the courts there, unless consumer law where you live lets you go to yours.
Changes to these terms
If we change them, we'll update the date at the top and mention it in the release notes. If the change matters to what you've paid for, we'll tell you in the app first. Changes apply from the date shown, not backwards.
